'I do not want to be the poster boy for OTT,' says Saif Ali Khan ahead of Sacred Games 2 release

Saif Ali Khan recently wrapped up the shoot of his home production, Jawaani Jaaneman, and is now enjoying a well-deserved break with his family in Wiltshire, England. However, his much-awaited web series, Sacred Games 2, is all set to drop online tomorrow on August 15. Interestingly, Saif was the first mainstream Bollywood actor to explore the digital medium and it led several other big names to follow suit. However, when asked about it, Saif told a leading daily, "I wasn't trying to achieve anything by paving the way. I do not want to be the poster boy for OTT," adding, "Being in the rat race is the worst thing one can do to himself. I was discussing with Kareena [Kapoor Khan, wife] that I want to model my career on the lines of Tom Hardy's, who shifts between playing the villain in Batman to doing a top-notch show [Taboo]. At this stage of my career, I want to be inimitable. I am developing a range where I am juggling serious stuff and comedy."

Interestingly, Saif went through a physical transformation for the second season of Sacred Games to showcase the change in his story graph, which features him in a better headspace. With the second season, Saif will be back as police officer Sartaj Singh, who is trapped in a race against time to save Mumbai from an attack. When prodded if the character resonate with him, Saif quipped, "I have never been as down and out as Sartaj. He was contemplating suicide. [The fate of] my films has never made me want to drink phenyl."

Work wise, Saif also has Laal Kaptaan, Dil Bechara, Bhoot Police and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior in the pipeline.
