Coolie No.1 remake shoot flags off in Bangkok, Varun Dhawan's mother Karuna Dhawan gives the mahurat clap

Varun Dhawan, after Judwaa 2, is all set to collaborate with his director father David Dhawan for the remake of his superhit film Coolie No. 1 originally featuring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles. For the remake of this comedy-drama, Varun will be joined by Sara Ali Khan. The team of the film including the lead actors has travelled to Bangkok, where a portion of the film will be shot. And now, in the latest development, the filming of Coolie No. 1 remake has finally taken off after Varun's mother Karuna Dhawan gave the first mahurat clap.

The makers of Coolie No. 1 remake shared first pictures from the sets of the film with one of the pictures being Karuna giving the clap. A while ago, the director of the film, Farhad Samji, on his Instagram account, shared a video of the first day on the set.

Coolie No. 1 remake, directed by David, marks the maiden collaboration of Varun and Sara. The film is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh. For the remake, Varun will step into Govinda's shoe while Sara will take over Karisma's role. Paresh Rawal will replace Kader Khan. Johnny Lever has been roped to fill in Tiku Talsania's role. The film is scheduled to release on May 1, 2020.
