Kanika Dhillon who penned the path-breaking script of recently released film Judgementall Hai Kya starring Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut has confirmed that she is separated from her husband Prakash Kovelamudi who is the director of the film. An entertainment portal reported that Kanika’s and Prakash’s marriage got over two years ago, much before they started shooting for Ekta Kapoor’s production Jusgementall Hai Kya.
According to the portal, Kanika and Kovelamudi issued a joint statement that read, “Yes, we did split but not during Judgementall Hai Kya. It happened 2 years back, before the cameras rolled on the film.” Kovelamudi further added, “We were settled in Hyderabad, as my social circle is there, but Kanika shifted to Mumbai, around 2 years back..." However, Kanika cut him short and said, “That’s really not important, what matters is that we are still friends and the decision is amicable."
When the couple was asked whether they would be willing to work together in the future, they said, “Of course, why not! We have pulled this (Judgementall Hai Kya) off together successfully and had a great time working together. We are surely open to collaborate on more projects."
The couple had married in 2014 but soon split amicably. Judgementall Hai Kya has been receiving rave reviews for its story, direction and performance and is said to be the best film that has released so far.
