It has been quite some time now that grapevine has been doing the rounds regarding Rajkummar Rao teaming up with Karan Johar for a film. However, it now seems that the speculations carried truth. Rajkummar, during an interview with a media agency, told that Karan and he are keen on working with each other. Though he clarified that nothing has been finalised as of now as they are looking into scripts that will work well. Rajkummar further added that the film will happen next year. Well, if this duo comes together, it will surely account to a blockbuster as both Rajkummar and Karan are masters of their respective fields.
"Karan and I are very keen on working with each other. But I haven't really signed anything as of now. Also, I don't think it happens these days that you sign a three-film deal with banners, especially with actors. Maybe it still happens in case of directors. I have never gone for signing a two or three-film deals with production houses. We share a script, we like it, we end up doing it, that's how it works. But I would love to work with him. We've been talking to each other for a while now. It should happen late next year," Rajkummar told during the interview.

It was rumoured that Rajkummar is being considered for Dostana 2 but later he clarified that things didn't work out well for both him and Karan. "About Dostana 2, I met Karan. Of course, I have immense respect for him but this one did not work out but I am sure very soon you will hear something very exciting from both of us," Rajkummar told during an interview with a leading daily.
Rajkummar is currently gearing up for the release of his film Judgementall Hai Kya which will open in theatres on July 26. Apart from that, he will be seen opposite Janhvi Kapoor in the horror-comedy RoohiAfza, scheduled to release on March 20, 2020.
