Ishq Vishk, released in 2003 gave a new definition to old school college romance introduced us to some fine talents like Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao. It won't be wrong to say that the actors made the film iconic and a loved one till date. Amidst the wave of remakes and sequels, there are strong rumours of Ishq Vishk getting its second installment soon. Speaking about the same, Amrita who played the role of Payal Mehra, during an interview with media, expressed her opinion about which actress should be cast in her replacement and promptly took the name of Sara Ali Khan.
Amrita, during the interaction, had to choose one amongst Sara, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. The actress told Sara can play Payal while Tara can fit well into Shenaz Treasury's Alisha Sahay. "Maybe Sara can play Payal and Tara can play Shenaz's character," Amrita told.

Amrita later joked and told, "The way I look right now, I think I can be cast opposite Ishaan Khatter, brother of Shahid in Ishq Vishk 2! I am just kidding."
Earlier this year, reports made rounds that Ishaan Khatter has been roped in to play the role of Rajiv Mathur aka Shahid. Although, Ishaan issued a statement saying he isn't doing the film. Now, the makers are yet to finalise the cast of the sequel. The producer of Ishq Vishk Ramesh Taurani earlier told a leading daily, "Yes, we are making a sequel to Ishq Vishk. The story is in scripting stage and could be about a teenage romance or a college romance." Ishq Vishk was directed by Ken Ghosh and became an instant hit.
