Akshay Kumar only Indian to make Forbes list of World’s Highest-paid Entertainers

Akshay Kumar, who is holidaying in London with his family currently, ought to be on Cloud Nine. The Bollywood superstar finds himself counted among the World’s Highest-paid Entertainers by Forbes in its 2019 list. And, what’s more, Akshay is the only Indian who has made the list!

The actor, who will return to Mumbai in time for promotions of his Independence Day release Mission Mangal, ranks No. 33 on the Forbes list. And that’s a big high because Akshay has beaten international celebrities like Barbadian singer Rihanna, American stand-up comedian Kevin Hart, Hollywood actors Bradley Cooper and Scarlett Johansson, Hong Kong martial arts superstar Jackie Chan among others.

Akshay, whose earnings have reportedly been pegged at $65 million, is one rung below Iron Man and Avengers actor Robert Downey Jr. whose earnings are $66 million. The Forbes list is dominated by American singer Taylor Swift who, at the age of 29, is reportedly earning a whopping $ 185 million in 2019. She is followed by American businesswoman and socialite Kylie Jenner at $170 million.

Each year Forbes ranks the world based on a variety of categories which include musicians, athletes, authors, comedians, actors and other personalities. American rapper Kanye West, Argentine football legend Lionel Messi and English singer Ed Sheeran take up the third, fourth and fifth spot on its respectively. Taylor Swift and Kylie Jenner are the only women to reach the Top 10 Highest-paid Entertainers milestone. And Akshay has established his international superstardom status by becoming the only Indian on the list.
