Taapsee Pannu rose to prominence with her cameo in 2015 film Baby, co-starring Akshay Kumar. Since then, she has carved a niche for herself with films like Mulk, Manmarziyaan, Badla and Game Over. The actress is now all set to feature in a socio-political drama Thappad, where in she is collaborating with her Mulk director Anubhav Sinha. The actress recently made the announcement on social media by sharing a picture with Anubhav. "Cheers to the new beginning with some good food! This one is a subject way too close to my heart. I’ve been wanting to do this since years. It becomes exciting when it happens with the 'Man of The Moment' @anubhavsinha 8th March 2020 will surely be the day to watch out for," she captioned the post.

However, the news did not go down well with a Twitter user, who trolled Taapsee by asking Anubhav to cast another actress because "she doesn't know acting." But expectedly so, Taapsee, who is known to speak her mind, gave it back to him like a boss. Tweeting back to him, she wrote, “Sorry yaar, ab toh sab kuch sign n seal ho chuka hai. Ab toh sir ko main hi nahi nikaalne dungi. But ek kaam karo, agli wali ke liye rok lo kyunki shayad woh bhi main lock karva lu jald hi. #TryAgain".
