The makers of Mission Mangal shared the first look of the film featuring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Tapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen, Kriti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi. Akshay shared a heartfelt post on the film this morning and later shared the first look of his film.
Akshay captioned the first look as, "A story of underdogs who took India to Mars. A story of strength, courage and never giving up! #MissionMangal, the true story of India’s space mission to Mars. Coming to you on 15th August 2019!"
The actor hopes to inspire as well as entertain the audience with the film. In a statement shared on Instagram earlier, he wrote, "For several years, Hollywood made movies and TV shows like Star Trek, Star Wars, Gravity etc. This inspired an entire generation of inventors, scientists and explorers. I have always wanted to be part of one such movie... A movie that inspires our future generations... One that celebrates imagination and curiosity." Akshay captioned the image as, "#MissionMangal ,a film which I hope will inspire as well as entertain. A film which I’ve done specially for my daughter and children her age to familiarise them with the incredible true story of India’s mission to Mars!"
Mission Mars stars Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon, Sonakshi Sinha besides Vidya and Akshay. The film will be helmed by Balki’s assistant director Jagan Shakti who is making his directorial debut with the film. Vidya plays the leader of the team of the female scientists who made the mission possible.
