The makers of Meezaan's and Sharmin Segal's debut vehicle Malaal made yet another soulful rendition- Ek Malaal available on social media platforms today. Ek Malaal is the title song of the film that features Meezaan as Shiva and Sharmin as Aastha. After making our foot tap to typical Maharashtrian style music, this song sets itself different from others with its ghazal-like treatment.
The video of the song traces Shiva's and Aastha's budding relationship to a tragic breakup. The song opens to a drunk Shiva knocking on Aastha's door. Aastha eagerly proceeds towards the door but halts hesitatingly. Soon after, Shiva reminisces the good old days when Aastha was with him. Ek Malaal is an array of emotions one experiences in a romantic relationship that meets a tragic end. These emotions are stringed together with a soulful background score and hauntingly beautiful lyrics and vocals. Watch the song here:
The beautiful song is sung by Shail Hada and composed by the producer of the film- Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Prashant Ingole has written the lyrics. Malaal is the story of Aastha and Shiva who fall in love with each other. Directed by Mangesh Hadawale, Malaal is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film is all set to release on July 5.
