Sonam K Ahuja is a bona fide stunner and now, with her choice of films, she has become the favourite of directors and box office alike. Sonam, who has time and again been trolled for being a star kid and assumed to get it easy being Anil Kapoor's daughter, opened up about the hardships she had to face during her career 12 years. The actress, who is on the cover of a popular entertainment magazine, spoke at length about the difficulties she and her sister Rhea Kapoor faced during the making of their blockbuster film Khoobsurat. She told the magazine that nobody wanted to work with her on that film, all thanks to its title and this is why they had to settle for Fawad Khan from Pakistan.
"I can’t explain how difficult it was to make Aisha. Do you know how much effort it took to make Khoobsurat? No hero wanted to work with me because it was called Khoobsurat. I had to get Fawad Khan from Pakistan. And look what happened. Fawad became a huge star. He had the confidence," Sonam quoted.

Speaking of nepotism to which she has always fallen prey to, Sonam said whatever work she has received till now, it is sheerly on the basis of her merit and hard work. She further revealed that she bagged herself her debut- Saawariya and Delhi 6 only after giving several auditions and not for being a star kid. "Initially, when I came in the industry, everyone said she’s born with a silver spoon, they alleged nepotism, etc. They didn’t know that I had auditioned for Saawariya, I had auditioned for Delhi 6 and that I’ve auditioned for every film I’ve worked in. I just was able to have the initial meeting. That was it," Sonam told during the interview.
"When Delhi 6 was being made, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had Rang De Basanti behind him. He was the biggest filmmaker that time. Every heroine wanted to do that film. But I was signed before Sawaariya released. I don’t even remember how many auditions I gave for the part. Even for Saawariya, I was auditioned with Ranbir Kapoor. Honestly, I got those films on my own merit," Sonam added.

Speaking of the actress workwise, she has been riding high on success with back to back hit films including Neerja, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Veere Di Wedding and this year's Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Sonam will be next seen The Zoya Factor scheduled to release on September 20. The film has Dulquer Salmaan opposite her.
