People can speculate what they want to: Sonakshi Sinha on doing a biopic on Paralympic champion Deepa Malik

Sonakshi Sinha has come forward to talk about the speculations doing the rounds that she is doing a biopic on Paralympic champion Deepa Malik. She has termed the rumours as “speculations”. There were rampant rumours that Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar were planning to make a biopic on Malik, who became the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympic Games at the Rio Olympics in 2016. She bagged a silver medal in shot put F 53.

Talking about the rumours, Sonakshi said, “It's all speculation right now. I am not the kind of person who would talk about a film until I've signed on the dotted line. People can speculate what they want to but when my films have to be announced, the right people will do it.” When she was asked whether she would be interested in doing the biopic, Sonakshi said, “I'd be interested in doing a good story, something which challenges me and has a great role for me."

Sonakshi also spoke about how her experience in the industry has taught her to be unfazed by opinions and criticisms. She said, “As actors, we know what we sign up for before we get into it. It's part and parcel and you've to deal with people's opinion, criticism. You've to deal with praise in the best way possible because you cannot let it go to your head. There are lots of things to take care of. But it's fun. I enjoy the jugglery.”
