Over the years, Shahid Kapoor has proved his mettle in acting. From Jab We Met, Kaminey, Haider, Udta Punjab to now Kabir Singh the actor is going from strength to strength. However, just like anyone Shahid has his own share of regrets as well. For actors, it usually comes in the form of not taking up a film offer that eventually goes on to become a massive hit and a game changer in another actor’s life who took up that opportunity.
During an interview, Shahid was asked whether he has any regrets of saying no to a film which he later regretted. To this, Shahid replied that he regrets not doing Rang De Basanti. According to reports, Shahid was offered the role of Karan Singhania that eventually Siddharth played in the film. It was after Rang De Basanti Siddharth became a household name pan India and enjoyed a massive fan following.
Rang De Basanti starred Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Siddharth, Kunal Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Sara Ali Khan, R Madhavan and Alice Patten in the lead roles. The film was directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and since its release has found a cult following amongst the masses. The film garnered immense praise both critically and at the box office. From its songs, to plot, direction and acting the film earned accolades in all sectors.
Shahid is looking forward to the release of his upcoming film Kabir Singh that also stars Kiara Advani and is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film also stars Arjan Bajwa and Suresh Oberoi. Kabir Singh is scheduled to hit screens on June 21.
