In a swap of directors, Ranbir Kapoor to likely get cast in Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 while Shah Rukh Khan to be directed by Rajkumar Hirani?

Ranbir Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the finest actors in Bollywood right now. With interesting films in his kitty, he is sure to surprise his fans with diverse roles and exciting narratives. As per reports in an entertainment magazine, yet another anticipated film is about to go to Ranbir. The film is none other than Don 3. The reports suggest that Farhan Akhtar, the director of Don franchise has zeroed down Ranbir to step into Shah Rukh Khan's shoes in its third installment.

Shah Rukh, on the other hand, will feature in Rajkumar Hirani's film which will be produced by his home productions Red Chillies Entertainment. Well, this swap of directors does sound interesting but there is no official confirmation from the actors nor the directors.

Rajkumar, who gave Ranbir his career's most coveted film Sanju that went on to grab accolades, had previously expressed his desire to work with Shah Rukh in Munna Bhai series. Although things didn't work out then, the director's wish to work with Shah Rukh remained intact. Talking about Farhan and Shah Rukh, they have delivered hits with Don and Don 2 but this time, Ranbir might be the one for the former's directorial.

Shah Rukh was last seen in Zero, which had a dull box office collection and since then he has been choosing his scripts with extra care and scrutiny. For now, he is focusing on his role as a producer for Netflix Original series Bard Of Blood featuring Emraan Hashmi. Ranbir, after Sanju, is currently working on Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt and is scheduled to release during Summer 2020. Apart from that, he will be seen in Shamshera.
