Leading the pack of villains, 'Bad Man' Gulshan Grover joins the cast of Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, to battle against Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar is currently shooting in Bangkok, Thailand for Rohit Shetty's upcoming action drama Sooryavanshi, featuring Katrina Kaif as the female lead. While Abhimanyu Singh and Nikitin Dheer have been cast as the villains, we now hear that leading the pack would be none other than Gulshan Grover, who will be seen as the main antagonist. As per a report in a leading daily, sign Gulshan signed up for the film after hearing his part after Rohit's chief assistant director called him for it.

Interestingly, the role is different to what the veteran actor has potrayed earlier. “This antagonist is a new kind of opposition to the hero. His sense of good and bad has blurred. While you may think that he’s bad, he thinks he’s a good guy. Karan Johar, who is also producing the film with Rohit and Akshay, too, complimented Gulshan — about how he feels he is perfectly suitable for this role. For someone who’s as known for his looks as he is for his performances, GG will be sporting a different look this time around as well," the daily quoted a source as saying.

Gulshan confirmed the news and heaped praises on Rohit, mentioning that it’s not often that one works with a filmmaker like him. “Rohit makes larger-than-life fantastic cinema for the entire family to enjoy. And he knows the technique so well, it’s amazing.” Not just that, Gulshan is excited to collaborate with Akshay again, with whom he has worked on films like Mohra (1994), Hera Pheri (2000) and a few Khiladi titles, too. "Apart from the working relationship and the camaraderie on the sets, Akshay is like a brother. He’s such a positive force around and the support from him is so strong, it’s always great working with him," the actor signed off by saying.

As Rohit Shetty expands his cop universe with Sooryavanshi, the film is expected to have cameos by 'Singham' Ajay Devgn and 'Simmba' Ranveer Singh.
