There should be a strong law against such miscreants and one word from him will stop these things: Anurag Kashyap on why he tagged PM Modi in his ‘rape and troll’ post

Anurag Kashyap recently was in the news for tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his tweet where he complained about a social media troll who had threatened his daughter Aaliyah with rape. The filmmaker had tagged the PM Modi and asked him to shut down these trolls who were ardent supporters of his political ideology. However, his tweet did not go down too well with many as they felt that he is unnecessarily pulling the PM into the controversy just because he is a known figure and instead he should file an FIR with the police against the troll.

Subsequently, Anurag proceeded to file an FIR with Mumbai Police and thanked Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on ‘starting the process’. In his defense, he stated on Twitter that he had tagged the PM in the hope that one word from him will shut down such nasty trolls on social media.  Today, during the trailer launch of his production venture Game Over Anurag once again spoke about the troll issue. He said, “The reason I tagged the PM was because I feel that there should be a strong law against such miscreants and if a stalwart tells his followers not to stoop to such levels then these things will not happen.” Watch him below speaking about the issue.

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and several others had taken offense at Anurag’s tweet. Anurag was targeted after PM Narendra Modi won the Lok Sabha elections with a record margin to form the government at the centre. Since he has always been a detractor of PM Modi his daughter was targeted by the troll.
