Kareena Kapoor Khan is pretty excited to share screen space with Irrfan. She has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Homi Adajania's Angrezi Medium the sequel to the sleeper hit Hindi Medium. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that contrary to rumours she will not be romancing Irrfan in the film.
Talking about Irrfan and calling herself a “huge fan” of the acclaimed actor, Kareena said, “I think it's going to be quite a surreal experience. It's not a romantic pairing. It's a small but interesting part and also I think that I just wanted to get out of my comfort zone and do a movie that would throw me into a different milieu and see how it goes. Whether it's Homi or it's Irrfan and Deepak (Dobriyal), I think it's all a different world for me to be a part of so that would be interesting.”
It was being speculated that Kareena will be playing a cop in the film but no official confirmation has come about the same. Angrezi Medium stars Irrfan as Champak, a sweet shop owner in Udaipur whose daughter played by Radhika Madan aspires to get a foreign degree. This is Irrfan’s first project after being diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour. The actor took several months off work to undergo extensive treatment in London last year.
A huge crowd had gathered at the film’s sets to catch a glimpse of the actor after his return to Bollywood. Currently, Angrezi Medium is being shot in Rajasthan and its next schedule will kick off in June in London. The film is slated to release next year.
