Sunny Deol has joined the Bhartiya Janta Party, ahead of Lok Sabha 2019 Elections. Earlier this month, there was news of the actor joining BJP party and there was quite a buzz about it and now, the actor has officially joined the political party. Sunny joined in the presence of Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Nirmala Sitharaman.

Last week, the actor had met BJP president Amit Shah amid speculation that he may contest from Amritsar or Gurdaspur. PeepingMoon had earlier informed that the Maharashtra unit of the BJP was asked to convince veteran actor Dharmendra's elder son Sunny to contest the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Interestingly, Hema Malini is an active politician from BJP but Dharmendra didn't enjoy a good political run in the past. However, she has said that this is going to be her last elections and she will not contest the next general elections. And now, to follow her legacy, Sunny has joined BJP too.

Sunny will be contesting elections from Gurdaspur. All 10 seats of Punjab will go to polls in the last phase on May 19. The results will be announced on May 23.
