Looking forward to working again, I am much better now: Rishi Kapoor’s health update from NYC is joyous news indeed!


Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has been missing on the Bollywood circuit for some time now since he is undergoing treatment for an unspecified illness in the US since last year. It was in September 2018 that Rishi left with wife Neetu Kapoor for the US for treatment. Now, after months of staying in the US, he plans to return to Mumbai soon and is looking forward to donning the greasepaint once again.

In an interview to a daily, Rishi gave an update about his health stating that he is on his way to recovery and is planning to get back to work soon. He said, “Looking forward to working again. I am much better now. Many people have been constantly inquiring. Sanjay Dutt, for example, has been in touch regularly. Actually more than me, it is my wife Neetu whom everyone messages about my health.”

In fact, during the acceptance speech at one of the award ceremonies, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about Rishi’s wish to return to films and also voiced his insecurities. Ranbir said, “And more so, he speaks to me about his insecurities that when he gets back, will he get to work in movies? Whether people will offer him films? Will he be able to act in movies?"

Earlier, Neeti Kapoor had sparked rumours that Rishi was battling cancer with her cryptic Instagram post that read, “Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign." However, the rumours were dismissed by Rishi’s elder brother and actor Randhir Kapoor.
