Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal will reprise their roles in the third part of Hera Pheri and will play characters close to their real ages as the script incorporates a time leap, a leading daily reports. “It takes off from from where Phir Hera Pheri ended, but fast-forwards into the present. The trip is desperate again but in a completely different scenario,” a source was quoted as saying by the daily.
Meanwhile, the report also states that Indra Kumar, who was initially supposed to direct Hera Pheri 3, is not a part of the franchise any more while the film will be helmed by Priyadarshan, who directed the first part of the film. Priyadarshan, however, said that he is concentrating on another project at the moment and refused to divulge details.
“I am currently busy with my Malayalam film, Marakkar: The Lion of Arabian Sea. It is a huge film and I will only think about Hera Pheri after this one is out of my system. Nothing is concrete as yet,” Priyadarshan told the daily.
The idea of Hera Pheri 3 was written by late actor-filmmaker Neeraj Vora and as per the report, Priyadarshan will work on it to formulate a screenplay for the film. “While the leads are eager to reunite, they don’t want to sign the film just to milk the brand. They are waiting for a narration,” the source added.
The screenplay of Hera Pheri was written by Neeraj Vora while he also directed the second part Phir Hera Pheri. Neeraj Vora died in 2017.
