My next directorial venture is an epic drama based on a real-life story, says Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting for her upcoming film Panga in New Delhi but is already planning her next directorial venture, “an action film  - an epic drama,” she said, while speaking to a leading daily. The 32-year-old actress is all set to announce the film soon and will also do a photoshoot for it.

The script has been finalized and she is planning to unveil the poster in some time. “I’m on the verge of announcing my next directorial venture. It’s an action film — an epic drama. It has taken a lot of my time. Currently, we are putting everything in order, but we have locked the script. We’ll be doing a photoshoot, soon after, which we plan to release the poster, too,” Kangana told the daily.

“It’s based on a real-life story, which I’m fascinated by,” Kangana said, adding that the film will be set on a large scale. As far as the budget is concerned, gathering funds for the film shouldn’t be a problem as well considering the fact that her last film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi fared well at the box office.

“There are a lot of great stories to be told and actresses today are bringing a lot of business, too. I’m happy with the way Manikarnika worked for me — as an actor and also as a director. Now is the right time to start work on my second directorial project,” Kangana said.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi cast Kangana in the lead role and earned over Rs 100 crore at the box office. She stepped in as the director of the film after Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, who was doing the job earlier, walked out of Manikarnika citing creative differences.

Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming films include Mental Hai Kya and Panga.
