Chhapaak: Deepika Padukone mobbed by fans at a store in New Delhi as she steps out for shoot

Deepika Padukone is currently filming Chhapaak in New Delhi and was spotted at a store in Janpath during shoot and needless to mention, was surrounded by fans, a leading daily reports. The actress was shooting for the film at the store, dressed in a yellow kurta and churidaar and as soon as she was spotted, fans flocked the venue in order to catch a glimpse of her.

Chhapaak, directed by Meghna Gulzar, is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal while the report states that she was attacked outside the store in question in Delhi in 2005.

The first look of Deepika as Malti released in March and the internet simply admired the actress for the poster.

Laxmi Agarwal was attacked when she was all of 15 and ever since, has been vocal about her experience and actively campaigns against acid attacks. At an event, Laxmi spoke about Deepika and Chhapaak as she said, “I was happy to see Deepika's first look from the film. The response and the messages I got on social media was overwhelming. In fact, it was my daughter's birthday, and more than messages for her, I got congratulatory messages about the film.”

Chhapaak is being co-produced by Deepika Padukone and also stars Vikrant Massey. The film is scheduled to release on January 10, 2020.
