It is not a recreation of any film: Alia Bhatt on the train scene in Kalank that is similar to Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge

Abhishek Varman’s much-anticipated film Kalank’s trailer was launched today amid much fanfare. The film has a stellar cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Kemmu. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studios. Kalank’s trailer is a visual treat and has been well received by the audience.

The trailer also has a scene reminiscent of the iconic train scene from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol where Kajol runs to catch the train that is leaving the platform and SRK reaches out to her and pulls her inside the coach. During the trailer launch, Alia was asked whether the similar scene in Kalank where Varun is running behind the train and Alia pulls her in is a recreation of DDLJ. To this Alia was quick to say, “It is not a recreation of any movie.”

Alia further said, “It was a very difficult scene to shoot but it is not a recreation of any film.” Varun also said, “The story has lots of twists and turns which we want you all to enjoy and this scene is also crucial for the film.” The scene is slightly different as we see in the trailer that when Alia reaches out to Varun she is unable to reach him but then Aditya comes to her rescue and holds her hand while she tries to pull Varun inside the train. Kalank is slated to release on April 17.
