’83: Ranveer Singh and his ‘Devils’ are heading to Dharamshala for ‘intense training’

Ranveer Singh will be heading to Dharamshala soon for intense training for his upcoming film ’83, a leading daily reports. In ’83, Ranveer has been cast as cricket legend Kapil Dev while sources told the daily that director Kabir Khan wants Ranveer and the rest of the cast to interact and bond with each other during the trip.

While in Dharamshala, Ranveer and his ’83 team will not only stay together but also attend script reading sessions. “The 1983 squad was a family that fought for each other and that’s why they lifted the World Cup and brought glory to India. Kapil led from the front and it was truly a unit that dared to dream under him. Kabir wanted his actors to train and live with each other before the shoot kick-starts. This one can be called Ranveer’s Devils! All of them are headed to Dharamshala for intense training. During their 15-day stay, they will stay together, do readings and also bond. Kabir wants his cast to truly become a team,” a source was quoted as saying by the daily.

Ranveer, meanwhile, began training for ’83 with cricketer Balvinder Singh Sandhu in February. Sandhu, a member of the 1983 winning team, had been training Ranveer for two hours every alternate day in Mumbai.

’83 is based on the Indian cricket team’s historic victory in the 1983 World Cup.
