She should not play with me: Pahlaj Nihalani on Kangana Ranaut’s allegations

Kangana Ranaut made headlines on Thursday by claiming that she had appeared in a photoshoot for Pahlaj Nihalani’s film during the initial phase of her career and was asked to dress in a just a robe without undergarments. Nihalani, however, refuted Kangana’s allegations and issued a strict warning to her while speaking to a leading magazine.

“I had spent one-and-a-half crore on that picture advertisement and shot for three songs. She did the reading post the photoshoot, but with my advertisement and the poster she got Mahesh Bhatt’s film (Gangster) and backed out of my film as she requested me to let her do Gangster as we were under a three-movie deal. She should not play with me, otherwise I have a lot of things to play with her,” Nihalani told the magazine.

Kangana, on a chat show for a leading daily, had said that the film offered by Nihalani was titled I Love You Boss and although, she appeared for the photoshoot, she disappeared soon after and changed her number. “They had a photoshoot where they gave me a robe to wear, and no undergarments. So, I just had a satin robe for a show-girl pose, from which I had to stick my leg out, coming out of darkness. I was supposed to play a young girl lusting after her middle-aged boss. So it was a soft-porn sort of character,” Kangana had said on the show.

Nihalani, on the other hand, told the magazine that he isn’t interested in porn films and in fact, had also approached Amitabh Bachchan for the film in question.

“It was a youth film; she was married in that movie. I had approached Amitabh Bachchan for that role. It was on the lines of Cheeni Kum. I gave the narration to Amitji too; he pulled out due to him already doing something similar. It was never a porn film and neither am I interested in those kinds of movies,” Nihalani added.

Pahlaj Nihalani is the former Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification and has also produced films such as Haathkadi, Aandhi-Toofan, Aag Ka Gola and Aankhen.

Kangana Ranaut made her debut in Bollywood with Gangster, and is the star of films Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Tanu Weds Manu, Queen and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Her upcoming releases include Mental Hai Kya and Panga.
