Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel takes a sly dig at Bollywood while pledging herself to be the ‘biggest cheerleader’ for Deepika Padukone’s film Chhapaak

Kangana Ranaut’s elder sister Rangoli Chandel, an acid attack survivor herself pledged herself as the ‘biggest cheerleader’ of Deepika Padukone’s and Vikrant Massey’s film Chhapaak. The film’s first look- a disfigured Deepika- was unveiled today by the actress as well as the release date of the film. Chhapaak is directed by Meghna Gulzar and is based on the inspiring life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika plays a character named Malti, based on Laxmi.

Deepika’s look with heavy prosthetics caused a stir among the Bollywood fraternity as well and celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, Dia Mirza and several others congratulated and wished success to Deepika for the film. Rangoli, lent her support to the film but also did not hesitate from taking a sly dig at all the celebrities by replying to a follower on Twitter. She also applauded Laxmi. Rangoli, in a past interview, had opened up about the ordeals faced after her dreaded incident when an obsessed lover threw acid on her face, in which she lost one ear and 90% vision in one of her eyes. She is now married to businessman Ajay Chandel in 2011 and welcomed their first child- a son named Prithvi Raj in November 2017. Deepika’s film Chhapaak is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
