Sonam Kapoor labeled ‘anti-Hindu’ for sharing Humans of Hindutva post

At a time when India and its neighbouring country Pakistan are battling heightened tension, Sonam Kapoor has received severe backlash for allegedly promoting ‘anti-Hindu’ sentiments on social media. She became a subject of trolls when she shared a post by the parody page Humans of Hindutva on her Instagram handle's 'Stories' feature. She used the post to comment on the tense war-like situation between India and Pakistan.

Her post created quite a stir on social media as Twitterati called out the actress for her ‘anti-Hindu’ sentiments and said that they will boycott watching her films henceforth. The message that Sonam posted on her Instagram page was a message for those who are spreading hate in the wake of the rising tensions between the two countries.

The reactions of netizens come on the heels of the Pulwama terror attack and air strike carried out by the Indian Air Force on one of the biggest camps of terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pakistan’s Balakot. A day after the air strikes, Pakistan violated the Line of Control which prompted swift counter operations. As a result, one Pakistani jet was shot down while one of the Indian fighters crash-landed in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by Pakistan but after diplomatic pressure is about to get released soon.
