He helped when we needed the most: Pulwama martyr’s brother thanks Akshay Kumar for financial aid received through his Bharat Ke Veer app

After the dastardly Pulwama terror attacks the entire nation got a jolt and many Bollywood celebs joined hands to donate for families of the 40 CRPF martyrs killed in the attack. Superstar Akshay Kumar also vowed to donate Rs 5 crore to the jawans through his Bharat Ke Veer app.

Now, keeping true to his word, Akshay has donated the sum to the soldiers. Sundari Devi, wife of Jeet Ram Gurjar who was among the 40 CRPF jawans killed during the attack has received Rs 15 lakh donated by the actor.  A leading daily quoted the younger brother of Gurjar, Vikram Singh who thanked the actor for his timely financial aid.

Vikram told the daily, “We are very poor. Jeet was the only earning member of the family. This help has come at a time when the family needed it the most. We don’t have a house. After Jeet’s death, the family is back to penury.”

Central Reserve Police Force DIG Jagdish Narayan Meena confirmed that the actor has donated the money to Sundari Devi in Bharatpur. Gurjar is survived by his wife and two minor daughters. The jawan’s parents, Radhey Shyam and Gopa Devi, both in their 80s were also dependent on him.
