After hitting several roadblocks, Anushka Sharma's animal welfare home to see the daylight soon in Shahpur?

Anushka Sharma has been vocal about animal protection and welfare since the beginning. A few years ago, Anushka made an announcement that she will build an animal welfare shelter. She then began the work for it in September 2016 in order to finish the final construction before her birthday in May last year. But due to some legal issues, the project hit a roadblock. The latest development on this project is that the shelter will soon see the daylight in Shahpur, reported a leading daily.

For the uninitiated, the project landed in a soup after the Sharmas decided to convert the agricultural land into non-agricultural one. Since the land is given only to farmers, there are several strict laws surrounding the property. The plot in the first hand was given to them as Anushka's mother Ashima Sharma holds a farmers' certificate and has the plot under her name.

Not just a shelter home, Anushka has plans to construct a bungalow for her parents who will look after the animals day in and out.

The idea to build a shelter was suggested by Anushka's spiritual guru. But, instead of restricting it to a mere animal shelter, Anushka plans to open a veterinary hospital as well. A team of experts from Udaipur is guiding the actress on the project, sources revealed to the daily.

Replying to this development, Anushka's husband Virat Kohli told the daily that they have no official statement to make as of now.
