Akshay Kumar gifts Rs. 1 lakh each to 100 poor couples in Parli mass wedding

The poor farming community of Parli in Beed district will forever be grateful to BJP leader Pankaja Munde. She’s Maharashtra’s Rural Development, Women and Children Social Welfare Minister; also the Guardian Minister of the district. And yesterday Pankaja organized a ‘Samuhik Vivah’ or mass wedding for 100 Parli couples. The colourful and traditional ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. But it was Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar who made Parli’s day by gracing the auspicious occasion as chief guest and blessing the married couples with a gift of Rs. 1 lakh each. His thoughtful act was rewarded by the Chief Minister who tweeted his grateful thanks to the actor.

A BJP spokesperson said, “It was kind of the Chief Minister to attend the Samuhik Vivah and extremely generous of Akshay Kumar ji to come to Parli and bless each couple with a cash gift. Mr. Fadnavis announced that this money would go into a fixed deposit in the wife’s name. The money means a lot to these farmers because they are so poor, it’s unbelievable. The actor won over the community’s heart by addressing the mass wedding ceremony in Marathi and praising Pankaja ji’s work towards women and children welfare. Imagine what a story these newlyweds will have to tell their children. That the Chief Minister of Maharashtra came for their wedding and they got a gift from Akshay Kumar!”
