Amul Topical: Karl Lagerfeld gets a fitting tribute from the dairy brand in a quirky advertisment

Fashion industry lost a stalwart when Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel passed away at the age of 85 on Tuesday. He was a formidable fashion designer who was known as a “controversial genius”. The entire fashion industry has been paying tributes to Lagerfeld. However, the best tribute came from our very own Amul that came out with a fitting topical advertisement for the designer.

Amul shared the topical advertisement on its social media account and wrote, “#Amul Topical: Tribute to iconic fashion designer.” The topical had the twist on the designer’s surname which read, “Lager than Life! RIP Karl Lagerfeld (1933-2019). The caption on the advertisement was a twist on the popular phrase ‘larger-than-life’.

The topical advertisement showed the typical Amul cartoon wearing a black suit and tie with a ponytail and black sunglasses depicting the fashion designer’s trademark style. The brand is well-known for its witty one-liners and puns and depicts the day’s biggest news as its topical advertisement.

Reportedly, the fashion designer has left a vast fortune for his pet cat Choupette which amounts to around $200 million. The feline also has an Instagram account of its own and a stupendous fan following of around 120,000 followers.
