Ishaan Khatter made his Bollywood debut in Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak alongside Janhvi Kapoor and his other project, Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds, was met with critical acclaim. Owing to Ishaan's popularity, several reports suggested that ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was quite impressed with his performance and hence, offered him a role in his next production venture.
An entertainment portal quoted a source as saying, "Sanjay sir was quite impressed with Ishaan in Dhadak. He has offered the role in his next to the young actor. However, the formalities are yet to be worked out. The film is still in the initial stages and Ishaan is yet to sign on the dotted line."

However, the actor's spokesperson recently denied all the rumours and claimed that Ishaan will not be seen in any film by SLB. "There is no truth to the rumours. This is to clarify that no such film is being made," his statement read.
Meanwhile, we wonder whether the film in question was the remake of Vijay Bhatt’s 1952 mega-hit Baiju Bawra starring Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari. In fact, if rumours were indeed true, Ishaan would have certainly look great essaying the role of Bhushan.
SLB's last directorial venture was last year’s blockbuster hit Padmaavat which had Ishaan’s brother Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.
