'Hearing Great Things About Gully Boy': Rishi Kapoor writes on Twitter for Alia’s film but deletes tweet

Zoya Akhtar’s latest directorial venture Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead is reaping accolades from every corner. The film has opened to extremely positive and favourable reviews and is poised to become a blockbuster at the box office pretty soon. Inspired by the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy the film sees Ranveer in the role of a struggling street rapper who wants to rise above his socio-economic status.

Alia has been garnering applause for her brash and bratty act ever since the trailer of the film dropped. Her slangs and the accent have been going viral on social media with several memes and tiktok videos coming out. Ranveer’s and Alia’s performance have been applauded by fans, celebrities and critics alike. However, Alia who is dating Ranbir Kapoor was praised on social media by none-other-than his dad veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.

The veteran actor who shared screen space with Alia in Kapoor and Sons gushed about her acting on Twitter but in a surprise move deleted the tweet. He had written, “Hearing great things about Gully Boy. My best to the team for the great success. Zoya you do it again!" However, before he deleted the tweet Alia had already responded to it with lots of heart emoticons. Rishi and Neetu Kapoor have openly accepted that they like Alia and the actress even rang in 2019 with the Kapoors in New York where Rishi is undergoing treatment for ill health.
