Sridevi’s death anniversary: Kapoor family to organise a pooja at her Chennai home on February 14?

Veteran actress Sridevi, who was termed as the first female superstar of Indian cinema, left for heavenly abode in February last year in Dubai due to accidental drowning. Although it's been a year since his demise, her fans and followers are still coming in terms with her sudden death, which has certainly a monumental loss for the Kapoors and specially for husband Boney Kapoor and daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.

Now in loving memory of her, the Kapoors are expected to organise a pooja for Sridevi at her Chennai residence. A report in a leading daily suggests that although her death anniversary falls on February 24, but as per the tithi, it will be observed on February 14. The barsi rituals to be held at her Chennai house, which happens right next to Dr M Karunanidhi’s residence, will be attended by Boney, Janhvi and Khushi, apart from Anil Kapoor’s wife Sunita Kapoor and other close family members.

Not to forget, Sridevi could not see her elder daughter's first film since Janhvi was due to make her debut with Dhadak in July, the same year. Speaking of her mother Sridevi’s tragic death, Janhvi had earlier said that she hasn’t been able to "process it properly" but is thankful to her fans and followers for the love that she has been receiving.

Sridevi, born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, had also started her cinematic career with a Tamil movie, Kandhan Karunai (1967). She went on to do many more films in the language as a child artist before her first role as an adult came at the age of 13 with Moondru Mudichu in 1976.
