Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar to turn into ‘Revolver Dadis’!

Acclaimed writer Tushar Hiranandani is taking a plunge in film direction with Anurag Kashyap’s co-production. The film is a biopic on the lives of the world’s oldest female sharpshooters or better known as ‘Revolver Daadis’- Chandro Tomar, 86, and her sister-in-law, Prakashi, 81 - who reside in the Johri village of Western Uttar Pradesh. The film stars Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead.

The film tentatively titled Womaniya also stars Prakash Jha, Vinit Singh, Shaad Randhawa and others and will begin filming in Uttar Pradesh from February 10 and is looking to finish by April. The makers are looking for the last quarter of 2019 for the release of the film. It was rumoured that the film was shelved due to budget constraints and the dissolution of Phantom Films but it was quashed by Anurag and Taapsee and now the film is back on track.

The story of these two women conveys a strong message that life can even begin after 50. Chandro developed an interest in shooting when she visited the Johri Rifle Club in her fifty’s with her granddaughter.
