Shamita Shetty allegedly abused, driver ‘slapped’ in Mumbai road rage incident

Shamita Shetty encountered a road rage incident near a mall in Mumbai’s Thane on Tuesday after a motorist rammed his vehicle into her car, a leading daily reports. The motorist was accompanied by two of his friends as the alleged perpetrators are yet to be identified. During the incident, in fact, Shamita was allegedly verbally abused while her driver Darshan Sawant was manhandled as well.

A case has been registered against the offenders by the police and details of the vehicle have been provided by Darshan Sawant in his complaint at the Rabodi police station. Police officials said, as per the report that the incident occurred in the afternoon while Shamita was in Thane for personal work. After the collision, Darshan got off the car to check the damage and that is when the offenders involved him in a fight.

The report states Darshan has said that he was “slapped and threatened” while the police said that no one was injured. A case has been registered under sections 279, 323, 504, 506, 427 and 34 of the Indian Penal code.

The offenders are yet to be arrested, as per the report, while the car involved in the accident has been identified.
