Ankita Lokhande has expressed her interest in working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in a film and star opposite Salman Khan in the project. During her interview with an entertainment portal, Ankita said that she is a fan of Bhansali’s style of filmmaking and his knowledge in the field, adding that “at least once”, she “wishes” to play the filmmaker’s heroine in a project opposite the superstar.
"For me, content is the hero and I am okay being paired with anyone. But yes I would love to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali as I admire his knowledge and his sense for cinema. And yes, at least once, I wish to play Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s heroine opposite Salman Khan,” Ankita told the portal.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a celebrated filmmaker and has directed movies such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. In fact, Bhansali also directed Salman in Khamoshi: The Musical, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya.

Ankita Lokhande, best known for her role in the television show Pavitra Rishta, is making her debut in Bollywood with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, starring Kangana Ranaut as the protagonist. The film will release on January 25.
