Last year, Ranbir Kapoor resurrected his Bollywood career with his impeccable performance as Sanjay Dutt in his biopic Sanju. The film based on the actor’s life, every actor won accolades for his or her performance. However, Paresh Rawal in the role of Sunil Dutt and Vicky Kaushal as Kamli, Sanjay’s friend overshadowed all. However, Akshaye Khanna revealed in an interview with a leading daily that the part of Dutt Sr. was offered to him but he lost the opportunity.

During the interview, he said, “Rajkumar Hirani and I had a couple of meetings. In spite of innumerable ‘look tests’, I was a misfit in that character. So I missed out on working with him in the biopic. I feel sad at not being able to work in Sanju after being bestowed upon with a chance to be the part of the film. He (Raju Hirani) is such an incredible and brilliant storyteller."
