Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor both made their Bollywood debuts last year. While Janhvi was appreciated in her film Dhadak, Sara wowed everyone with her confidence and spunk in Kedarnath and Simmba. However, these two biggest debutantes have always been pitted against each other by paparazzi even though they share a cordial and friendly relationship with each other. During the Newcomers Roundtable with Rajeev Masand the two actresses spoke about their presumed rivalry and dispelled all such rumours.
Sara vehemently dismissed the suggestion that the two actors are jealous of each other and said instead they have loads of fun at the expense of all the news headlines that pit them against each other. She recalled an incident on the red carpet of her debut film Kedarnath when Janhvi posed for the shutterbugs and told them cheekily, “Abhi aapko collage nahin banana padega.”
On the other hand, when Janhvi was asked if Sara’s success makes her jealous, she said that it, in fact, motivates her to do better. Sara chimed in and said that whenever she wants to binge eat she sees a photo of Janhvi at the gym and convince herself to stop.
Now, aren’t these two actresses outright hilarious and adorable at the same time? It feels nice to see that the new crop of actors do not share cold vibes with each other and are comfortable in their own skin and support and motivate each other to do better. The Newcomers Roundtable also had Ishaan Khatter, Radhika Madan and Zoya Hussain and the young actors came out as very sensible, polite and a fun bunch indeed who have their heads firmly fixed on their shoulders.
