On Deepika Padukone's birthday, a preview of the glorious presents she has in store for us in 2019

Deepika Padukone. Sirf naam hi kaafi hai, right? In a career spanning over a decade, Deepika has managed to escalate herself to superstardom with...just being herself, actually. She is one of the highest-paid actresses in India and above that, American magazine TIME has named her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018. Yet, she is humble enough - minus the airs observed in a celebrated star. Despite the glaring presence of critics - fashion or otherwise - Deepika holds her own, not just on screen but off it as well.

To be honest, Deepika is everywhere in spite of her limited appearance on celluloid for the past two years. Be it the Cannes Film Festival, MET Gala or endorsements for that matter - it would be safe to assert that Deepika is omnipresent. Well, that's her eminence.

2018 has been quite illustrious for Deepika - professionally as well as in the personal space - while 2019 appears equally bright already. As Deepika turns 33 on January 5, it is a good day to reminisce her journey and ponder upon the wonders that she is all set to create in 2019. Wait for it, guys because what Deepika has in store for you in 2019 is nothing short of exciting.

Before we step ahead, let's begin with a slight recollection of Deepika's magnificence in 2018. After Bajirao Mastani's release in 2015, we haven't seen much of Deepika on screen considering she was busy filming her Hollywood debut xXx: Return of Xander Cage, which released in 2017. That apart, she appeared in a special song in Sushant Singh Rajput's Raabta the same year. After a long wait, Deepika cast magic on celluloid with her breathtaking performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, which opened 2018 for her.

Deepika, thus, has been absent from the films for a pretty long time and while we did miss watching her in films, she compensated for it through stunning pictures from her wedding to Ranveer Singh. Of course, Deepika's and Ranveer's wedding was one of the biggest headliners of 2018 - the couple confirmed reports of their marriage in November months ahead of it by sharing their wedding invites and that's about it, actually. Deepika's absence from the screen, was hence, explained away to glory.

As far as 2019 is concerned, Deepika will soon begin work on Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Not just that but Deepika is co-producing the film as well - Chhapaak, thus, will mark the debut of her production house Ka. After Chhapaak, Deepika is expected to materialize her superhero film - a project that she has been discussing with a friend of hers from the industry, as told by the actress during her interview to a leading magazine in December.

While no official confirmation has been provided on the production of the superhero film, several quarters of the press suggest that Deepika will be producing it under her production house banner.

2019, hence, will certainly be a busy year for Deepika while at the moment, she is enjoying marital bliss as is her husband, tipped to be the next superstar with his new film Simmba earning over Rs 150 crore within a week - there's no stopping Ranveer as well. Instagram PDA, naach-gaana, attending events hand-in-hand and an overdose of romance - we've enjoyed every bit of Ranveer and Deepika in 2018 and will do so in the future as well.
