Hrithik Roshan to collaborate with 2.0 director Shankar for a science-fiction thriller?

After the success of his recent film 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, director Shankar has approached Hrithik Roshan to play the lead role in his next untitled project, a leading magazine reports. Hrithik and Shankar met recently to discuss the script and the 44-year-old actor was quite impressed with the plot - touted to be a science-fiction thriller - of the film after the narration.

The report also states that pre-production has commenced for the film while the makers are discussing dates with the actor. Hrithik, though, is currently busy dubbing for his upcoming film Super 30, and will resume work on his film with Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor soon after. Krrish 4 is also in the pipeline.

Several quarters of the press, meanwhile, also suggest that Shankar has been intending to work with Hrithik since the past four years so much so that the director's first choice for the role of the antagonist in 2.0 was Hrithik. Shankar, in fact, had also desired to cast Hrithik in his 2015 film I.

2.0 released last November and fared well at the box office and was also received well by critics. Shankar has also directed films such as Enthiran: The Robot and Nanban.

Hrithik was last seen in 2017's Kaabil. Super 30, directed by Vikas Bahl, will release on January 25.
