Simmba is not 'Mughal-e-Azam' but it does give you a high: Rohit Shetty

Ranveer Singh’s and Sara Ali Khan’s Simmba released today and has been gaining positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience alike. Directed by Rohit Shetty the film is the quintessential masala potboiler and is the first time the director and Ranveer have collaborated. In a recent media interaction, Ranveer and Rohit spoke about how the film has appealed to Ranveer’s wife Deepika Padukone who has previously worked with Shetty in Chennai Express and also accepted the fact that it is a commercial entertainer throughout.

Speaking about Simmba Rohit accepted the fact that it is extremely difficult to predict the box office outcome of the film, and said that Simmba is his first women-oriented action film. He added, “It is the audience who decides whether they want to watch a film or not based on the trailer or promo. Awareness is definitely created through the songs. On Friday, we will get to know about the fate of the film. The film makes you happy and cry. I am not saying it is Mughal-e-Azam. But it does give you a high. You will clap, cry and you will get that emotional jolt.”
