Janhvi Kapoor bears an uncanny resemblance to Gunjan Saxena in first look from biopic of first woman IAF pilot

Janhvi Kapoor has begun preparing for her role in the Gunjan Saxena biopic as a picture of the actress from the sets of the film has emerged on social media. Gunjan Saxena is the first woman IAF Chopper Pilot and Janhvi has been cast as her in the biopic, which will be reportedly produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

In the picture that is being circulated by fan clubs, Janhvi is seen dressed as Gunjan Saxena in the blue uniform with her hair tied in a bun.

Two months ago, a leading website acquired an exclusive picture of Janhvi and Gunjan as the 21-year-old actress had been spending time with the pilot in order to prepare for her role.

Gunjan is one of the first Indian women to fly a chopper while she also evacuated injured Indian soldiers from Kargil in 1999. Despite facing enemy fire, Gunjan along with flight lieutenant Srividya Rajan managed to rescue the soldiers.

Janhvi, daughter of filmmaker Boney Kapoor and veteran actress Sridevi, made her debut in Bollywood with Dhadak in July. Dhadak cast Ishaan Khatter opposite Janhvi and the film not only fared well at the box office but also impressed critics.

Janhvi will also appear in Takht, co-starring Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor apart from Janhvi. It is expected to begin filming in September 2019.
