Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor took everyone by surprise when they came forward to reveal their relationship status. The actors have been dating for a year now and never has Ranbir’s family been so supportive for any of his girlfriends the way they have accepted and acknowledged Alia. The romance that started on the sets of their forthcoming film Brahmastra has already got the seal of approval from both sets of parents and now the couple has gone ahead and taken their relationship to the next level.
However, before you all jump the gun and start thinking that wedding bells are in store for these two just because everyone is getting married and the wedding season is here, we would like you to reign in your horses. Apparently, the couple has taken the big step the millennial way. According to a leading daily, Ranbir has added Alia to his family WhatsApp group. However, this step has us wondering whether wedding bells are in the near future and the group is for coordination over the festivities.

The Kapoor family WhatsApp group comprises of Ranbir's parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and aunt Rima Kapoor Jain. Now, this is a really big step keeping in mind the new generation keeps in touch through their smartphones and social networking apps.
It was only recently that Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt had said that he feels Ranbir is a great guy for Alia and confessed that the couple is in love. When Alia was asked about her father’s words at an event recently, she said, “To be honest, I don’t want to talk about it, I am feeling shy. But, I love my father and anything he says obviously means the world to me.”
Ranbir and Alia will share the screen space for the first time in Brahmastra that is directed by Ayan Mukerji and also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
