Karan Johar ropes in Dulquer Salmaan to play the lead in the Gunjan Saxena biopic?

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is foraying into new territories by partnering with various production houses, taking up new content-driven cinema and even backing regional projects with southern superstars in the lead. The filmmaker is now making a biopic on Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena who was India’s first female combat aviator and was posted in Kargil during the 1999 war against Pakistan. She helped many soldiers escape for the deathly situations.

Gunjan’s role is being played by Janhvi Kapoor but now as reported by a trade website southern sensation Dulquer Salmaan has been roped in to play the male lead in the film. Salmaan who is a big star in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu cinema made his Bollywood debut earlier this year in Karwaan that also had Irrfan and Mithila Palkar in the lead.
