Rajinikanth’s and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 to hit 56000 screens in China

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 after getting a marvelous opening at the Indian box office is all set to hit the screens in China. Lyca Productions will release the film on 56,000 screens (including 47,000 3D screens) in May 2019.

A statement from Lyca Productions read, “Lyca Productions Pvt. Ltd is proud to associate with HY Media, one of China’s most prominent production and distribution companies, for the Chinese release of 2.0, the magnum opus of director Shankar, starring pan-Asian Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar.”

2.0 is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made and was released in India on November 29. A sequel to Rajinikanth’s Enthiran the film has already broken many box office records in India and recovered quite a lot of its budget in advance bookings, satellite rights and digital rights even before its release.

The film’s Hindi dubbed version has garnered over Rs 100 crore within five days of its release. The film also stars Amy Jackson, Aadil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey. 2.0 is directed by Shankar. The film’s director has touted that there will be a sequel to the film as well and 3.0 will have ‘Kutty’ in the lead instead of Chitty.
