Janhvi Kapoor preps for her role in period drama Takht, takes Urdu lessons

Karan Johar’s newest protégé Janhvi Kapoor, who has bagged herself a meaty project of Takht, is someone who believes in taking charge of the things and moving ahead. We understand that being cast alongside stars like Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Alia Bhatt can be daunting. However, considering the project is still months away, makes it a bit ambitious for her to be prepping for it already.

But, the actress does not think so. Janhvi who would be seen playing Zainabadi Mahal aka Hira Bai, has already started learning Urdu from a language coach to get a strong hold over her diction and pronunciation.

Takht is going to be a period drama which would be set in Mughal era. Seems like the actress, who looks too invested in her looks has a side to her which is far too hardworking and dedicated. The actress has already started reading up about the Mughal era. As it goes, her reading list includes Aurangzeb: The Man and the Myth by Audrey Truschke, and Storia Do Mogor by Niccolao Manucci, as per a leading website.

Ranveer will be seen portraying the role of Shah Jahan’s eldest son, Dara Shikoh. One hears Anil Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Shah Jahan. Kareena might play Jahanara Begum, Shah Jahan’s daughter while Aurangzeb’s role would be portrayed by Vicky.
