Amidst treatment, Irrfan to return to India and celebrate Diwali at his Nashik farmhouse?

Bollywood actor Irrfan left everyone in a state of shock after he announced in March this year that he’s suffering from a neuroendocrine tumour. Ever since then, he has been undergoing treatment in the United Kingdom. Although there were speculations that Irrfan will start filming the Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh biopic, we now hear that he will be coming to India to celebrate Diwali and not for work.

A report in a leading daily suggests that Irrfan is expected to be back in the bay Wednesday and it will be his first trip to India post the diagnosis. The daily quoted a source close to the family as saying, "Irrfan and his family are planning to celebrate Diwali at their Nashik farmhouse. It will be a 10-day trip after which he will return to the UK for his ongoing treatment."

Well, we are certainly elated to know that Irrfan is on a road to recovery, however, it will be a while before he honours his professional commitments.

"He is yet to be given a clean chit by his doctors on whether he can start full-fledged work. The doctors are hopeful that he can return to the set by March. But he will have to follow the guidelines that his oncologists give him. The biopic (Udham Singh) will have to be divided into shorter schedules,” added the source. For the unversed, he is also expected to begin work on the sequel of Hindi Medium.

With no official confirmation from Irrfan, we wish him a speedy recovery for now!
