After making quite an impact in the West, the #MeToo wave has swept into Bollywood and beyond, following Tanushree Dutta recounting an unpleasant episode with veteran actor Nana Patekar on the sets of Horn ‘OK’ Pleassss in 2008.

During her interview, Karisma stressed on the fact that perpetrators, if proven guilty, should be punished in order to make the workplace safe while she also added that alleged victims should speak up to ease out further complications that may arise.

“Proven offenders should be punished for the crimes they have committed and efforts should be taken to make the workplace a better space. It’s important to talk to someone — whether a professional, a friend or a family member.  Sharing your problems will ease things out,” she added.

The #MeToo movement has exposed several celebrities with women coming out to name and shame the offenders. Celebrities like Vikas Bahl, Chetan Bhagat, Gursimran Khamba, Kailash Kher, Rajat Kapoor, Alok Nath, Anu Malik and Sajid Khan have been named and shamed for using their positions to exploit the vulnerable.
