Tanushree Dutta started a movement when she accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment and intimidation while she was supposed to shoot for a special song for his 2008 film Horn Ok Pleasss. The matter took a legal turn when the actress lodged an official police complaint against the actor, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, director Rakesh Sarang and producer Sami Siddiqui.
Apparently, her constant media interactions and interviews have taken a toll on her and she has sped off to take some time off to attend a health spa near Pune. Tanushree shared a picture from the health spa where she can be seen seated in a meditating position under a Buddha statue. About the legal proceedings and the case, Tanushree’s lawyer told an entertainment portal, “Tanushree feels that every woman should have a safe environment in their workplace. So, she is moving to the High Court for the implementation of Vishakha case judgment passed by the Supreme Court. She wants this to be implemented in every professional platform. Like Vishakha committee, Tanushree committee should be formed in the Cine Artistes' Association to readdress the issue of sexual harassment issues at the workplace."
Her #MeToo allegations gave strength and courage to a number of women who started coming to the fore with their own horrific ordeals about sexual harassment in the film industry. Many biggies like Sajid Khan, Rajat Kapoor, Alok Nath, Kailash Kher, Anu Malik, Subhash Ghai were also named as perpetrators and have come under the scanner.
