It was difficult to read about Deepika’s dating rumours: Prakash Padukone

Deepika Padukone who is all set to get married to her boyfriend Ranveer Singh on November 14 and 15, appeared for an interview with her father legendary badminton champion Prakash Padukone on a news channel. The duo had a long heart-to-heart chat and revealed a lot of things of how the actress came to Mumbai from Bengaluru at the young age of 17 and got into films after modeling, her passion for modeling and playing badminton as a hobby. The father-daughter duo spoke about everything and that included the various rumours about her link-ups and affairs. Prakash admitted that it was difficult to read about her link-ups and dating rumours.

During the interview, Prakash said, “Initially, we found it difficult. But nowadays, we're used to it. Some of it - what is being reported is true, but some of it is absolutely not correct. But it is a part and parcel of... you can't have only good things. One has to accept it."

We wonder whether he was hinting at Deepika’s alleged link-ups with Nihar Pandya, MS Dhoni, Siddharth Mallya, and Yuvraj Singh. Prior to being in a committed relationship with Ranveer, Deepika was also in a steady relationship with Ranbir Kapoor that is still spoken about today. The two never hid their relationship from the media but the affair soon went kaput.

Since Deepika’s parents are not from the film industry it must have been difficult and disturbing for them to read about their daughter’s alleged flings. He also said that he and his wife had sleepless nights thinking Deepika living alone from home in an unknown city. However, talking about not pushing Deepika into taking up badminton at a professional level he said that it’s important for parents to realize that there is a difference between liking something and being passionate about something. He said that Deepika liked badminton but her first love was modeling.
